This was written a few months into 9th standard. I had already been listening to a lot of philosophy by then, and I did refer to model essays, so I can't always tell now which parts of it are mine. My teachers were overqualified — all of them B.Ed with a lot of experience, some even M.Ed, including my Kannada teacher. Some of the big sentences probably came from there.

"School is a studio where sculptor carve beautiful ideals using different types of stones. So also the teacher shapes the children into beautiful ideals."
A note from me now: I meant idols, in both places. Shilpi, shile, shilabalike — the sculptor carving a stone into something beautiful, and the teacher doing that to children. I was thinking in Kannada and reached for the wrong English word.
"The conditions of our government schools are pathetic, that too in rural areas it is horrible."
"The teachers should not quarrel in the school, it is a model school & I am proud of my school."
